Instant search for your NAS, SFTP and WebDAV servers on iPhone and iPad.

Get in touch Questions, problems or ideas: email [email protected]. Please include your device, its iOS version and the kind of server (SMB, SFTP or WebDAV).

Getting started

Open the Servers tab and tap +. Servers on your network appear automatically; otherwise enter the address yourself. No server yet? Tap Try the Demo Server to explore with sample files.

Common questions

ShareSeek can't connect to my server.

Check the address and port, and that your iPhone or iPad is on the same network as the server (or can reach it over the internet, for example through a VPN). For SMB, check the share name and that your user can open it; for SFTP, that the server allows password or key sign-in.

ShareSeek says the server's key has changed.

ShareSeek remembers each SFTP server's key and blocks the connection if it changes, because that can mean someone is intercepting it. If you reinstalled or replaced the server, compare the fingerprints shown with the server's own, then tap Trust New Key.

Search doesn't find words inside my files.

Content search is off by default. In Servers, choose the server and turn on Search File Contents, and Recognize Text in Images and Scans for photos and scanned PDFs. By default this only downloads on Wi-Fi.

Indexing takes a long time.

ShareSeek lists every folder on the server once, and large libraries take a while the first time. You can keep using the app meanwhile. Later updates only check folders that changed.

How do I free up space?

Settings shows how much space the index and downloaded files use; tap Clear Downloaded Files to remove the copies. To rebuild or delete one server's index, open it in Servers.
